I got hold of the previous owner who tells me he welded the oversills over the inner. Ahh!!
So I'm definitely going to buy the original outer sills and get rid of those overs...

good luck.. just be aware that this could be like pulling at a piece of string. You take the oversills off to find that the floor / inner sill is rotten, the seatbelt mount is rotten, the heelboard attachment is rotten, the crossmember is rotten. And on it goes.
Sorry to sound so negative, just pointing out that this is a common scenario. The fact that the previous owner has fitted oversills and then sold the car might indicate things are not so good under there.
Just want to point that out to you, so that you can keep on top of the situation and make sure that he doesn't just rip the whole lot off without your input as you could end up with the car out of action and a hefty bill to put it right. In reality it will depend how much the car is worth to you, how much money you have available etc depending on what you find under there.
Just don't assume that its a simple case of taking off the oversills and putting normal ones back on. It could be if you are very lucky, or it could be worse than that.

Soon as I get the sills he'll get to work on the car. Here's to hoping there's no damage that the camera hasn't picked up!

So just an update - The new inner and outer sills arrived. My welder is going to remove the oversills and inspect the inner sills and replace them as well if need be.
So far: 2x outer sill replacement: £400
He's also going to prime and coat the sills to help future proof them
