I just got a van that needs sills-I jacked up one side and placed it on axle stands -removed sill-cleaned for paint and noticed the door pillar has sprung away from floor leaving a large gap-20+mm-tried to pull into place using cargo belts but didn't work-body is a stripped shell  I have followed step by step process as per Haynes restoration manual and it doesn't cover for movement of this caliber-I see from reading forums you guys brace body before any work-im disappointed the manual hasn't mentioned any thing of this ----what can I now do to rectify---thanks

Not the clearest photos, but what you've photographed looks like the rear bin closing panel, which usually has a gap anyway.

Vans don't have rear bins......

Its a bit tricky to see what you mean from those pictures to be honest

I agree with Shifty. I keep coming back to this and looking at the photos but can't make head nor tale of the problem

the gap by wheel arch is 10mm which is the correct size gap but directly below door pillar the gap is 23mm- the rh side has rusted out and there is no sill so to speak from front door pillar to the rear wheel arch an there is a uniform gap all the way along-my van has tool boxes fitted and a spare tyre well in the rear half of the floor-also a rear seat was in it before I stripped it down---it was first registered here in new Zealand nov 1969 I believe its known as a countryman model but not certain-it has side windows either side of rear roof brace--as far as my pics go I had a pri--------k of a time to even get whats there sorry seems my cell ph wont clearly upload thanks
