Yeah I remember reading the flood thread. Are things on the road to recovery? Trying times to say the least...

im hoping to knock the price down as the cars clean, its got a years mot and its only the second owner. Its only done 65 thousand. It just depends of the noise is release bearing or gearbox bearing... Anyway I'll keep on looking.

Yours looks nice by the way.

Yeah. I spoke to the local gearbox man and he said that it was more likely to be the gearbox from my description so im steering clear.

The search continues.

Bought one!

A 1.1 independence no less.

Its really clean, but now I've had a chance to get right underneath, one of the box chanels under the boot floor ir pretty rusty. The boot floor itself is fine.

Is that going to cause me problems come mot time?

I had a 93 one in mint condition for about 4 weeks the car its self was good but i ended up selling it back to the guy i bought it from for 50 quid more amd he had to tax it that night and needed new tyres so he ended up with a bad deal o.o the only reason i had it for 4 weeks was because i bought it in winter as i usualy ride bikes and dident really like the car all that much to want to keep it would have just been sat there

I stuck my finger through it about 4 inches from the bumper end. Its a localised area of corrosion about 2 inches long and on the downward facing face of the box section. The hole I made is the size of a 1p.

Just glue a 1p in the hole  ;-)
