Hi folks - some advice, please.

My sister-in-law was given her grandmothers car in 2012, but has hardly used it for more than a couple of hundred miles. She lives and works in Central London, so never needs to. Her (and my wife's) grandmother lived in Cornwall and this was her run-around or getting to the village and to church. She bought it new and it was garaged when not being driven. When it came up to London in 2012 it stayed in my garage for about 6-months, then my sister-in-law took it to her place. So, it's only lived outdoors for about 18-months! But she's not used it and I've finally persuaded her that selling it is the right thing - I can't stand to see such a lovely car not being used!

Here are the details - I'll try to get a few pictures up tomorrow in the daylight.

Mini Mayfair

Mileage is just 26k

Registered Jan. 2000

1275cc

White (Ivory) colour with a 'Burberry' style seat covering and wood dash

Following work in last couple of years:

New exhaust Jan 2012
New alternator Jan 2012
New shock absorbers May 2012
New Tyres Jan 2012
New battery May 2014
New paint job on several panels earlier 2014 - there were a few small rust spots starting to show, so I advised that these get sorted before they get worse. This cost about £900.

Mot due on 13th Nov.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It needs some pictures for anyone to give you a proper idea of value

Shots of the scuttle to wing gap, around the head lights, the sills are all important

pretty sure the sevens had the red and white retro style seats, that said I'm not sure about rover making a 2000 mayfair

Thanks for the info, guys. It does look similar to the pic of the Mini 7. I searched around online because the V5 document just says "Mini".

I've uploaded 12 pics on Photobucket. I've tried to capture all angles and show the car in a as honest a light as possible. You'll note that it's not been cleaned up, so I'm sure it would scrub up well.

The marks on the front left tyre are from recent fitting.
The only imperfections I'm aware of are the slight 'creasing' on the inside of the drivers door and the door of the glove box doesn't click - that's thy there's a piece of paper in the top at the moment. Here's the link to the album: http://s36.photobuck...usky87/library/

lovely looking car

I think it just has mini on the v5 because that's what it is, as apposed to a mini seven etc.

looks to me like you have a fine example of a mainstream mpi mini

Personally, i would take the time to give it a through clean and detail and perhaps make the little repairs as this will enhance the value and saleability of it tenfold.

does look like a nice clean car though.

I would say as is, around 4K but with all the niggly bits, perhaps 5k?

Ben

Thanks for the advice Ben_O and Rob Mac. Agreed that it needs a good clean throughout!
