Definitely. Had been thinking about adding a black roof to our blue car when we come round to repainting...

So...big question...what's next on the list of modifications?!

Had it's MOT on Friday and failed on a number of niggling things. First up were the hazard lights. I'd accidentally wired them so all offside hazards didn't work - doh!

All fixed now and the panel looks good inside too:

Changed the oil on the weekend. Well, I started to and noticed quite a lot of metal in the sump plug thread. Turned out to be the thread from the casing itself. So it'll be helicoiled for a permanent fix. 5C5AD6F9-FBB6-42FC-936B-E41A9A4746CC_zps
Over the years my tool collection has grown (as has the mess in the my garage). So I've added more wall racks, another shelf I had knocking about and some storage. I just need to add the hooks and tidy the workbench off now 😋

I went to Bingley on the weekend and picked up a few bits. The coolest thing (probably not to you) was some new powder coated headlight rings. They didn't have inner ones, so knocked some up for me this week for the princely sum of £10. Hopefully they'll arrive tomorrow and I can post some fitted photos:

The sump plug has also been fixed using a quality helicoil. This should be good enough to last forever as it's made of steel, so it's much harder than the original thread.

But if you over tighten them you can still rip them out the alloy thread you made for them.

That's true. But hopefully I'll be the only one that'll be doing it from now on.

Indeed! Just make sure it's torqued up correctly and you won't go wrong :)

Here's what I had before:DC0490FD-7F48-4754-9BCB-CD70B9D8D88D_zps
And after:

Excuse the dirtiness of the car. It'll be all clean soon enough:

I think they suit the car well and am pleased with how they look.

I've been getting things ready for a full service of late. Got my oil, grease, filters and the 'Rolls Royce' of grease guns (or so I've been told).

It's a Wanner gun (little one is a Nubrex) and it works an absolute treat. So much better than the one I bought last year. Is it wrong to get excited about a grease gun?

I've been meaning to replace the naff horn that was fitted by the previous owner for ages. Today I fitted this Stebil Nautilus copy. To be honest the SPi engine bay is pretty busy but I managed to squeeze it in and it looks pretty neat:

Also went and got the mini washed:

I've been working on fixing up the interior. I found an awesome trimmer and ordered up something retro cool - a set of Recaro LS in leather.

One of them arrived today and I was bummed to find border control had gone all out to ruin my day with a box cutter. Hopefully I can get compensation and the repair looks simple enough:

Here's a sneak peak at how they will look (still have to put them together). There's still one at Stanstead too - so hopefully that will come through unscathed.

I'll get some better photos when I bolt them together.

I opted for Cobra Seat frames and had them retrofitted with some steel bar to fit. They look pretty neat and strong as you like:

I'll be fitting the seats together and bolting them in the car soon. Can't wait.

Like the seats, they will suit the car very well. Annoys me so much when customs go through your stuff and don't take care with it I hope they do compensate you fully and not just give you a tenner an tell you to do one
