Surely the shell is twisted - look at the top of the windscreen?

More pics here:

No connection with the car or vendor - just curious whether this kind of damage was as minor as they seem to make out.

From the way the glass has cracked I think you're right, the shell has twisted. Looks like it might have been rolled onto its side to me

the damage doesn't look to bad but in the pics it looks like the passengers a pillar is bent slightly, which could be why the screen is smashed. not worth that much though.

The second picture for me is the one that makes it look twisted. Its certainly not just a new door that is for sure! Probably worth a few hundred maximum to anyone wanting to sell the interior and engine etc. Might be a good donor car though for anyone needing a lot of parts.

The seam joining the roof to the windscreen frame has buckled

The windscreen has a suspicious crack (probably from it being twisted)

Rear wheel arch is missing

Door handle is snapped

Wing mirror is missing

Windscreen to door frame seam is bent

Side roof guttering is bent

Rear roof guttering may possible be bent

I think the car has been rolled, and should probably go to a scrapyard

First thing I would be doing is running a hpi check on it..

It's be rolled over by the looks of it, rather than rolled, ie some piss heads have decided it'll be fun to pick it up and stick it  on it's side and push it down the road.

which would normally mean it's a cat C write off, if it's subject to an insurance claim... which would then mean either the owner has not put it through the insurance, or he's bought it back as salvage....

IMO it's over priced, not very well described and could actually be not the owners to sell....

IMHO

window screen aperture deformed - so roof will need pulling back into shape - ie shell distorted

center of roof looks higher so may need window surround panel / scuttle

scuttle showing rust

more to worry about is that age may have a fair bit of rust hidden - that has been loosened by the distortion

much more than a door - could end up an expensive project

That would need a thorough inspection to see what's going on with the roof. Way overpriced.

Assuming he isn't just displaying an old disc, the tax ran out last July - so the car was either sat for over a year before whatever happened happened, or it happened a long time ago and he is only just selling it now.

His best bet is strip and sell for parts. The MPis have a range of desirable parts so it should't be a problem making one money, but it will some way off what he is hoping for.

To be fair it does need a door, so the advert is partly accurate, lol

Considering this led to a comprehensive rebuild you can't trust the pictures. This shell was completely twisted with one wheel sticking out 2" too far on one side and 2" too far in on the other. Things could be bent that you can't tell in the picture. I'd want to do a full inspection of the floors and subframe mounting points etc before any more was said. That said theres £1500 worth of parts there. As said, it needs a HPI test.
