Bit of a large update this w/e, and as I've got this week off should get a decent bit done.

The front crossmember and toe board finally arrived so they werer the first jobs.

Those took most of the w/e and since Monday I've been sorting out the door steps/jambs.

First cut off the sills.

The passenger side oversill was ontop of an oversill.

A large pile of rust.

100_5892.jpg

Drilled out the spot welds on the doorstep and removed more rot.

A lot of measuring and a bit of fettling, and the passenger side is clamped in.

Did the drivers side this morning bit a bit more measuring and cutting tomorrow on this side as its only roughly in place. Then weld them in.

Bit of an update, sorry its been over a month but I had problems with my daily drive and that had to be sorted taking vital funds away from The Tart. Anyway back on track now.

Gettin' jiggy with it!

I'm really enjoying this build. Keep up the good work and the updates coming.

Had you welded or done a renovation before? Seeking your progress is certainly giving me some confidence that i can take tackle my '79 GT... though I suspect you're making it look easy..

Toeknee - Believe it or not this is my first resto. I've welded patches on her since I got her and been creative with glassfibre and filler but never replaced panels.

There are great projects on here and I've looked at a lot to get tips on replacing panels. Atm I'm looking at Ben_O's Mini 25 Resto because he's doing innerwings.

An update for this w/e.

Made a start in placing the panels that arrived last week.

100_5973.jpg

That's how she stood saturday after 6 hours of fettling - I know they're Heritage panels but they still needed a lot of work.

However there were still some issues that remained, as in....

100_5980.jpg

100_5979.jpg

So Sunday I took the lot off and started again.

With another couple of hours faffing about again I.ve now got to this.....

100_5982.jpg

100_5983.jpg

The Hinge stiffner posts are now ready to be welded in. A bit of a step backwards but I want to do it properly.
