Hi, my name is Raul, i'm from Portugal. I have a 76 red mini 1000.

I'm in the process of changing my 10" BWA to 12" x 6,5 banded steelies :)

But i haven't get any clue of what it would look like. Does anyone got pictures of mini with 12" banded steelies so i can get an idea of what it would look like in my mini?

Regards and thanks in advance ;)

Yeah its doable, you wont need inner tubes as said above (unless your planning to go above 7 - 8" wide, which you wont because i know you)

Heres a picture...

There was one on ebay a few years ago, red with 12" white banded steel and it looked excellent

I'm looking at getting my set of steels in my garage banded for winter wheels to 12x7s.

Glad to see i'm not in that much of a minority, since a lot of the banded steels on minis are 10s.

Yeah, i think we have to create a topic where we could share pictures of minis with some 12" banded steelies ;)

That's the spirit! :) i think that 10" banded steelies are very comun, but in 12", that's an all other story ;)

Personally if you dont want 10" banded steelies I would look at 13"s they look pretty damn good on the mini! An alternative to 12s

But I am biased, I am running 10s ;)

12s banded would look sweet, better than 10s anyway, and like you said, not as common either which is always a good thing to be different

This photo was the inspiration of it :) but i think 13" is too much, 12" is the way to go ;)
I hope that they will look as cool as this one! i hope :)

yeah, that's the mini spirit, no mini classic is the same as the next.. Mini owners should always keep their own car to the personal taste.. At least this is my opinion :)

I'm going for 12" banded steels, because I need a little more rubber. Currently running 13x8 with rock hard suspension and tyre stretch. Isn't working out so great for my panel seams.

I had some 10 inch banded steels and they did look the nuts. If I was going for 12 inch banded steels I would try and find a set of Hilman IMP wheels. There are 12 inch, correct pcd for a mini and you can get chrome hub caps that fit on. A great alternative if you can't run 10s.
