The way I see it, a forum is kind of like a book shop, or an open library. Lots of people contribute to make the forum what it is. Some people walk in and just plonk a book on the shelf, sometimes they put it in the wrong place. Then other people walk into the library to look for a book about Classic Minis, but that shelf has a load of other stuff on it and it makes it harder to find what they were looking for.
In this case, the book was on the wrong shelf, we moved it. Actually, I moved it. I was sat on the bog yesterday and saw that there was a thread called "Proof Binis can look cool". Saw it was in the Mini Chat section, so moved it to where it should be. Don't think I've noticed it in the past. Didn't take note of the start date, just saw it was in the wrong place so moved it. No malicious intent, just moved it because it was in the wrong place.
All of this "not worthy" stuff. Not sure where that's come from? It's a case of "Not Mini", it's as simple as that. TMF is, always has been, and always will be a Classic Mini forum. That section is, always has been, and always will be a Classic Mini Chat section.
It's really no hardship whatsoever to click on General Chat and view it in there. BUT, if new comers to the forum see that the Classic Mini sections are filling up with stuff about the MINI, it'll just get confusing. As for some sort of exemption because it's always been in the wrong place, well, no. It's just an oversight that it was left in there. I often move MINI stuff into General Chat, because that's where it's supposed to go. In fact, you've said yourself that you're aware of this "new rule" about MINI stuff being put in General Chat. It's not a new rule. It's a new clarification, because people didn't seem to "get" that we're a Classic Mini forum. That the Mini Chat section should be for Mini stuff only. I just don't see an issue with this at all. I mean, it's really not hurting anyone at all, is it?
