After much deliberation i am selling this saloon shell, dont want to get rid of it but a mixture of 2 many projects and wanting to invest in a new business has made me come to sell. Advertised else where as a shell (£1000) without some of the interior parts which were intended for another proect.
Its a J Reg 71 shell. Has good doors attached and the bonnet and boot are good also. The shell itself is in a fairly solid condition, its had some repair work done over past 2 /3 years. Blasted and red leaded inside so you can see what needs attention. This is not rotten, its an original shell thats had a respray in the past (was a present for a previous owners wife and done a light metalic pink) and the front edge of the wings trimmed for wider wheels. The shell will require welding but floors, sills, boot are mostly solid and a decent welder will just cut out the affected areas and weld in new with out replacing full panels. The front does require replacing due to starting to go. You could repair underside and build car and mot and then do paint and new front in a year or so if required. Inner wings are solid. I do however have new wings and pre 73 front panel welded up ready to fit on. New A panels there if required as they are just starting to bubble slightly. All the glass is there for the car and original. Front are rear subframes are solid. Now for the good part if fairly solid body is not enough. It has a factory fitted full length Webasto Tudor sunroof in great condition. Couple slight nicks due to age, opens and closes fine and is tan. Headlining great also. The shell will also now come with the original wiring loom, 3 clock centre binacle, bottom dash rail, original switch panel, steering column and keys, black vinyl door cards, original chrome accessory switch panel (nice) and a rear wiper motor and the original rear unipart water bottle. The holes for the rear wiper are there and been added early in its life and the wiper is a Trico one and in as new condition. It will also have chrome door mirrors and nice 70s interior mirror. Rear lights, pedal box etc. This will make a very nice car when done. My intention was a coach built/period modified car. I have lots of nice rare parts that are available at extra cost. I want £1600. This is with the new metal front. I can get more breaking the car. For extra I also have a 1275 metro engine, centre exit Sportex exhaust and lcb, black vinyl back seat and period low back bucket seats which i will sell for extra along with a set of 5 mini special alloys with yohama a008 tyres (slight cracking with sitting but almost new tread, up to you if you want to use). I also have a grill, headlights and most bits to make car nearly complete for £2300. If there are other wee bits required for the car i have within reason i will include for this price. I will get pics up tomorrow and better pics when the car out of its corner. Best to get me on my mobile, 07849 081713. I will be in harrogate this weekend so might be possible to put car in my noisy wee trailer.

Is the Webasto an electric one?

Cheers

Edit: hmm if it's factory fitted then I'm guessing it's the little manual sort.

Kind of answered your own question. No its a manual one. These are very rare and are worth a fair bit of the car. Its also a full length one. Ie most of the roof. Similar size to the electric mpi ones.

Do you still have this shell, and if so do you have the pics yet? I will PM you my email address now - if it's easier to email the pics, feel free to do that instead of posting them here. You might be just as well off uploading to Photobucket and using the IMG link on here.
