Hi. I am wanting to know whether there are any alternatives to having seperate policies on each car. I'm 20 and have a vw golf and the mini both seperatly insured. There is likely to be additional cars joining the fleet however!

multicar policies I've tried seem to be far more expensive than seperate policies (and I guess you don't get seperate no claims) and I have no idea about traders policies. Can I register as a trader? I am also starting to buy and sell a few cars on the side as well and I believe there is supposed to be a limit to how many times you can do this?

I've got a fleet policy with Tradex. Have a look at them. They also do an enthusiasts policy as well.

I have a multicar (Admiral) policy for our two daily's - it worked fractionally more than insuring just one of them with anyone else.

ve just turned 20 been on the companies traders policy at 19 with trade plates that allow me to drive commercial up to 7.5 ton, cars im limited to what I can drive no lambos and etc
off hand price was 500, and a bit
As far as I know u won't be able to set up your own traders policy until age of 25
As for limit on buying and selling there is not any its just space and money

To have a traders policy, you do need to show evidence of being in the trade.

Which usually catches the liars out on forums when they state they've got their own trade insurance at 21 and don't have a 'trade'.

Would be good to see a poll of people who have multicar insurance as I'd like to use my NCB in both cars.

i've still never been asked for any proof and had policy for years.

quick question for you...did you say you'd just got trade plates?

How long did they take to come through? Sent forms in the other day and from reading on the site it looks like they come through quick and easy now, used to have to go to local office for 'interview' but wasn't sure what the score was now they've all been shut?

When you get to 25 you can get a classic policy which will be the cheapest insurance. My daughter has now got her special covered on her own classic policy which was a lot cheaper than before she was 25, aa recovery, agreed value, keep the car if written off  and no mileage restrictions.
