Sorry if this isn't the correct forum. I'm looking at purchasing a mini listed as '62. I've sent a few more questions to the buyer and waiting for a response. Being new to the scene, did the '62 have the Austin Cooper tag on the back? Since the cat is a bit of a drive are there some other questions I should ask? I'm aware of inspecting sills, rust spots and the like. Asking £3,300.

The Cooper was launched in 1961 and as far as I remember the badging was either 'Austin Cooper' or 'Morris Cooper' so it seems right to me.

Other than that (and seeing how bad the rust is!) I guess the main thing is to see how many original Mk1 features remain.

Does have a lot of cooper looking items on it. It may be a 997 cooper.

Ask the owner what the engine/ chassis number are to be sure

Either way it looks like it will need the usual full restoration and I would hope it to be a cooper at the asking price

That does have a few Cooper bits on it and from what I can see a number of original engine parts, the clutch housing, one of the master cylinders, heater valve, carbs etc.

Is this worth his asking of £3300
