I would like to exemplify the distinctively british stuff on both of these cars.

first off... the Raingutter. No cars except british cars have those.... and our newer BMW Rover doesn't have it either.
the very skinny doors are another trait. The rovers doors are so skinny normal speakers can't be fit inside them. Not so with our BMW Rover.
The very direct and basic door latches.... not the same as the ultra smooth and complicated latches on the BMW Rover.
The leaking oil ;-) . We had oil leaks fixed 3 times under warranty on our Rover. So far the BMW Rover aint leakin
Symmetrical dashboards. Dashboards that mirror eachother for quick changeover of the steering wheel.... even the BMW Rover has this.
The ultra efficient interior. The Rover inside feels bigger than an Expedition but is about 2 feet shorter and 1 feet narrower. Not so with the BMW Rover. That one is about 6 inches shorter and 2 inches narrower than the big one and doesn't have nearly as much space.

I think thats about it right now...
oh and low end torque.... but thats basically a non Jap car thing
the japs are the ones who invented the torquless engine.

Nice pic, although the mini seems a bit dwarfed by the other car!

Hope you have fun driving it on those huge roads you have.

how can a brit honestly call a Land Rover just another car. It is the pinnacle of all Off Road vehicles..... and its British. But yes, it is dwarfed.

LOL, my apologies.

But I mean it is the newer version, not the old box one that the proper farmer types have.

That's a Land Rover Discovery though. It's not a newer versoin just another model. It's not like The Defender (the one that looks like it's made out of boxes) which is the best offroader in the world and the safest car in the world. Discoverys are still good though and got the 2nd safest car award, and they are pretty good offroad.

Yeah it is a nice mini. I like the airbrushing (if it is airbrushing, I don't know much about paint.).

its airbrushing
and Land Rover is not allowed to sell the Defender here, it doesn't meet safety regulations :D(
which is really annoying because used defenders are worth almost as much.... if not more than they cost new.
Before I looked into minis I was lookin at Land Rovers. But the V8 Land Rovers were to expensive.

i'm lucky enough to have access to both, they are both fantasic british vehicles in their own right, just completely different, the mini is quick, nippy and fantastic at cornering, but C**p on anything other than tarmac, and the landy is slow, rolls round even the slightest corners, but will pull 18 tons off road (its been proven with ours!).

The only problem with the series II disco is they stopped fitting diff locks to some of them, and made do with just the traction control, which proved very unpopular, so they put the diff lock back in with the series III.
