Ok i have found out the problem engine only running on two cylinders 2-3 1-4 not firing i have spark i have compression as i have run a compression test all cylinders are the same. I have changed the coil and dizzy but still same problem the only thing i can think is its the timing. I have recently changed the head gasket and have reset mt tappets.

Any ideas????

I know it basic but have you checked the spark plug leads are in the correct position?

If you have a blue Haynes manual, it tells you how to test the amplification module in the troubleshooting!

Do you want to keep these carbs? Are you open to change? If so then I would personally go with the hif44 or the weber as a single carb.

Ok think I have found the problem seeing as my wiring loom has a pink/white wire which is a ballast resistor wire which is connected to the coil it isn't preducing 12v when running only 9v so I am not getting a bigger enough spark when running hence why I might only be firing on two cylinders fingers crossed this is the problem :)

Right just disconnected the white/pink wire from the coil and connected a 12v feed to the coil and it made matters worse only fired in one cylinder so will wait for the new amplifier and hope it will sort it....😠

If you posted this in the technical section you will get a better response from the tech wizards on the site.  Have you looked through the electrical section of the FAQs?
