It's for real.

They were on about it on Facebook.

And Moog did the tune. As he is also a musician.

If they're doing tuning and stuff on it, wonder if they're just going to get the specialist components injection set up.

It'll be interesting to see what they do to it, they've done some really cool stuff in the past.

Hopefully it'll be more Bad Obsession than Wheeler Dealers.

Its such good condition, I doubt it will be an engine changer.

Sorry to drag this thread up yet again but I didn't expect this.

Shame it's the wrong engine. A vauxhall (holden) engine would have been better. The gearing is easier to sort.

I was really excited to see a new episode with the mini but furious to see them putting a Honda engine in..

I'm not a fan of engine swaps..
I get the impression he wasn't happy with the super charger conversion, shame they've not gone down the K head route or similar

I think it'll be interesting. Long time mcm fan and thought they would go down this route eventually.

I know it's not the first b-16 swap but still interesting. Especially as I wanted to do the same... Right up until they started cutting up the firewall :( guess I'll be sticking with the a series :/

I didn't realise Honda swaps required so much butchery! It's nice to see mcm back but to be honest it does seem to be a massive shame to be loosing the a series and hacking into what looks ti be a pretty mint example! It's not like it going to suffer tin work like our cars either living in Oz.

I like MCM a lot, but they seem to have gone the wrong way around this imo. If moog had researched a bit more, he would know that minitec frames are suited to lhd cars, being an american company, and fitting it to rhd car requires alot of mods (what they are doing) and it messes up all the front end geometry. Imo he should really of used a allspeed frame, cheaper, from the uk, and does the same job, uses mini components, but wouldn't require chopping the steering up. Vtec conversions usually require the bulkhead being chopped for the inlet mani too..

I bought the Maaaaaaad tee-shirt :D

They seem to have dropped a bit of a bollock here.  It was carnage in that Queensland garage!

or was the minitec frame a freebie, since it was gonna be on MCM?
