Hi guys, I've got a set of 5 starmag alloys for sale, overalls good condition with some curb grazing which I have removed to a degree. Also got a bridestone tyre to go with them which I removed from the spare when I took them off for a refurb. Photos will be posted soon

Secondly I have a metro gta 1275 engine for sale. It has been partly dismantled with the cylinder head removed (new Payen head gasket kit included) I was also partly removing the clutch plate to change it when the puller snapped and that will be left as it is. Cylinder head was rebuilt with receipt to prove it in 2011 I believe.

What do people think these items would be valued at?
Photos posted lower down
Many thanks
Lawrence

I would think alloys needing a little refurb work would be worth about £80 for the set, but it really depends on their condition.

The engine is harder to put a value on, it seems that decent 1275s go for good money, but one that's been partly stripped may be worth a little less.  To me it'd be worth more than a complete one (unless I'd heard it running) as it's easier to inspect it as it is!  You'd probably get like £300 on ebay for it if it was a runner.  But as a non-runner in parts it's probably more like £150?  Opinions seem to vary massively on engine values, so it may be worth looking on ebay for anything similar that has sold.

You'd probably get a lot more if you sold the engine as separate parts.  The head could be worth £100 if it's been refurbished and there's a receipt.

The fact you broke a puller trying to get the flywheel/clutch off does not help either...

As a core engine for rebuild, £150's about the right money, it's what I pay for a complete 1275 if you dropped it on my doorstep,

One suspects the engine has been outside for a while, probably since your post in February where you were trying to get the flywheel of then after a failure...

Yes the flywheel is lightened... rust is lighter than steel... but probably a bit beyond use now..

The danger is, with the head unprotected at least one of the valves is open which means atmosphere will have got into the bores and could have damaged them...

The starmags need a refurb, but I reckon £20 a rim...

Not sure where you're located, but if you fancy dropping the engine and wheels off here, I'll give you £250 for the lot.

I think £250 is a reasonable price taking condition into account, I'll take your advice and advertise them then as your a good 3 hour drive from mine. Thanks for the advice guys

I think that is a good offer
