:wales: When I bought my engine it came with a dizzy so I assumed it was a turbo one, how can I tell if it is?

the vac addvance pulls 12 deg not 7 and has a hevey duty slip spring in it

:wales: is there no easy way like a model number or something? The one I have has a module on the side if that's of any use :grin:

The mk1 dizzy has the seperate module, the mk2 has the module mounted on the side.
I have several dizzys and they all have different no.s, i think what fireman-sam says is true & maybe the only way of telling.

sorry i dont have a pic of a mk2 dizzy but the vac add has a diffrent number stamped on it and that tell you how much add it pulls hope that helps

if you open up the dizzy and take out the vac add it is stamped on the part that moves in and out
but you can only see the number if you pull the dizzy to bits :smartass:

hi i no what the numbers are now for the mk2 dizzy
the vac will say 12 not the word nine
and on the bob wieghts its 10 not 13.5

:wales: Cheers mate, got my dizzy in bits infront of me now and it says "nine" on the vacuum unit...... Explains a lot, anyone got a spare turbo dizzy? :sad:

if a mk1 one will do yes i do he is going to put it on ebay but his gtm turbo will be on the club stand at mitp he could take it there if that helps

:wales: Mitp saw me acquiring a standard turbo dizzy for £15 and as Fireman-sam has previously said, the vacuum unit has the numbers 12 stamped on the control arm and the bob weights are stamped 10 (which he showed me in person at mitp, cheers matey :grin: I did check myself as best as I could with the tools I had but F/s totally had it in bits)
Anyway thanks for all the help you've all given me and hopefully my engine will be developing full power sometime soon, I'll keep you up to speed on "Turbo nut" :cheese:
