Hello to all my fellow canucks on the forum. I have a very important question for you.

The time has come. I'm about to drop a great deal of money to purchase all of my needed car parts and soldier ahead with my restoration.

Before I do, however, I need some advice.

I have been searching the web for a long time for a site with the best prices and have settled upon minisport-usa. I was a patron of minimania before but it seems like their prices are often out to lunch, sometimes even double.

My question is, is there a better site price wise than minisport-usa? Take in to account that I live in Alberta and shipping is a major factor in my decision.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

GK

I can't really help you at all, but if you are planning on spending a lot of money, is there any benefit to a huge order in say the UK, where the prices might be a bit lower from someone like MiniSpares (plus discount with TMF+), or potentially January sales, and then have it all shipped in one order on a ship or something? Obviously timings would be a fair bit slower, and I haven't looked into it, but it might save you a bit if you spend enough and you go for the slowest delivery option.

I know some of the mini parts companies here do offer international shipping.

Thanks! It might be. I've just found Minispares, site to be a bit confusing. Is it quite a bit cheaper than mini sport? How much is the tmf plus discount?

As I imagine calling might be expensive, Simon@minispares is on here and should be able to answer any questions you have.

TMF+ is just £5 so a good saving to be had.

I just ordered 2 door skins from MiniSpares. Total with shipping was about $300 to the USA. Here is the same order from Mini Sport:

Genuine Door Skin - LH - Mk1/2, 1959-1969 1 $119.95 $119.95
Subtotal $239.90 Shipping from the UK $284.95 Total $524.85

Shipping And Handling Please select how you would like your purchase to be shipped to you. Class of Service:  UPS Air Express 2-4 Day ($284.95) DHL Air Express - 2-4 Day ($335.48)  Enter any special delivery instructions: Terms and Conditions      I accept the Terms and Conditions.

Their shipping has always been a JOKE!!  I comparison shop all sites when I need parts but 64 GBP to $284 is ridiculous.

Hmm. Maybe there's a way to contact them and show them how much we are getting ripped off for shipping over here?

I'm sure they know and it's not my job to educate them.....

My job is to rebuild my Mini at the best price!

True enough! Well maybe a can take my parts list to Minispares and see what they can work out for me. I was a bit leery of the exchange rate from pounds to Canadian dollars though. Just for example, I checked out a steering wheel equivalent to the one on minisport and it was almost $30 more without shipping.
