Hey Guys
Just got back from picking up the new engine for my 1275GT, its in kinda bad state at the moment, lots of water in the cylinders, corrosion seems to be restricted to the very surface, so hopefully a hone and a re-face is all thats needed. Anyway, the engine is a 1293cc Gold Seal which is 5 years old, i've been told it has a Kent cam of unknown duration, Omega dished pistons and a lightweight flywheel. The engine also came with two 12G940 heads, of which one is a GT head, which would equait to about a Stage 3.
This little topic is going to cover the dismantling and re-building of the engine. Hopefully in my spare time this should take about 3 weeks (im a college student, so i have alot :cheese: )
Pics will follow shortly, just need to compress them

Do you plan on boring to the next oversize? 1310 i think it is..? If so, will you be getting rid of those pistons? (Please contact me if you are!)
If the engine is corroded in the cylinders, i suggest you overbore it since in such a high-power engine you can't get away with as much as you could say in a 998 in terms of precision if you get what i mean..
Awaiting pics

i may well consider it, a 1310cc with Flat top pistons does sound good
yeh i know what you mean about the overbore-ing, i wouldnt want to get the size of the engine too big however, as reliability will become an issue
who knows, we'll see

Any top-down views of the bores? Could you perhaps turn the engine over by hand to show more of the 2nd and 3rd bores?

i have some pics of the top, just not small enough for 400k limit lol. Ive turned the engine over by hand and it isnt seized, i have already removed the timing gears, i await a friends flywheel puller tool to carry on with the dismantling, im not going into depth at this stage as it is really all very self explanitary if you have a bible to hand
