Hi guys, not sure if in the right section but i am just trying to guage some interest/suggestions.
I have a done quite a few 16v conversions over the last 10 years, from k series, micra, bike engines and even a front engined rwd.

At the monent i am looking at and thinking about building a run of k11 micra subframes, shafts and everything needed for a full conversion.

If i do i would happily pay to be a trader/sponser for the forum.

My question is;
Would there be much interest for conversion parts/frames?
And
What sort of price range would be suitable?

The frames will be built on a custom build jig and will not need any modification to inner wings (will fit under standard front end). All frames would be test fitted both in the car amd with an engine and box.

Admin feel free to kove this if it's in the wrong place.

Its quite a straight forward Conversion compared to other 16v's. But as you probably know alot of mini owners cant weld and/or a bit worried about cutting up a subframe etc... Hence why i think it'd be good to fabricate/supply some subframes at a reasonable price.
I know allspeed do a frame but ibwas thinking of a lower cost alternative.

I think there would be demand for it, although there is already a micra subframe made by allspeed. It, however, has a couple of problems. It needs allspeed lower suspension arms and tie rods and it requires part of the inner wing to be removed, not a lot, but one of the appealing things about this conversion is that it can be done with no body modifications.
Also, before a mod comes and tells you, you need trader status before you can ask these questions (even just asking) as they had problems before. You only need to send a pm to do it.

I do like the idea that no body mods need to be made.. plus my brother has a micro sitting in the driveway!
It just comes down to the cost of the conversion.

cost has always been an issue for me when doing engine conversions, this is why i am looking at doing some frames. The only body mod that may need doing (depending on what inlet you use) will be a half moon cut-out in the bulk head for the standard micra inlet. If you use bike carbs this issue doesn't exist ;)

Do it please......

As for price range, if you could get the whole kit to be a chunk cheaper than allspeed then you're onto a winner, depends how many hours it takes you but i expect you'd sell loads. The problem with allspeed is not the frame price, as thats £310, but the arms cost loads and you have to sort the driveshafts out too. So if you got the whole lot in, keeping original mini arms say, for around the 500 mark you could sell a fair amount.

Im no expert and i've no idea if thats an offensive price but if you offered the frame with provision for standard arms and it came with shafts, i'd certainly be happy to give you £500!

I was thinking around the 500 mark or 450 if i could, the drive shafts i'd have made as i don't have the facilities to do them myself. I'll dig my jig out the garage in the new year, get a few made as they don't really take that long to be honest and get the first few sent to sone interested parties as market research for what they cost me maybe. Would have to do sone sums.

Would you be ordering the subframes in yourself? i'd be needing a twin bolt thats all.

I normally cut up 2nd hand ones. If you wanted to supply a twin bolt the overall cost would be cheaper?
