!45/10s were originally fited on 3.5"x10s and even though there are lots of cars over the years running the smaller tyre they are a bit small on 5x10 rims. I used to work with a chap (RIP Rob Andrew) who used to run 145/10 Sterling remoulds on 6" banded steels, sidewalls were pulled terrible

Originally 145/80 x 10 were all you could get for the 4.5" optional rims in the '60's and we all used that combination.

5" wide is a bit too much for a 145 section width, although I guess you could get them to fit. If stretched too much the tyres will not perform as well as intended or as well as they would do on a more optimum width rim.

Ideally, for a 5" rim width a 165 is much better and more suitable.
