Found this when clearing out the garage.

Is it an oil cooler, and what's it worth?

Approx 17cm wide and 15cm tall, excluding bottom bracket.

Cheers

Mike

It is an oil cooler....but doubt it's worth much

The thing is, once an oil cooler has been used....in some peoples eyes it is scrap.  Reason being that small bits of metal and general engine running gunk will deposit themselves inside and you'll never be able clean them out properly. Throw this on to a new engine build and those little bits of metal and engine gunk will soon whizz themselves around your fresh new engine....not good.

That said, it is a really handy sized cooler and does look in good nick.

Many thanks. Seems a shame to chuck it in the next scrap run.

I'll stick it in the classifieds

Much appreciated,

Mike

Don't scrap it. Clean it and sell it. I've used second hand oil coolers and on some large power builds too. 1/3 fill it with degreaser and give it a massive shake down and drain. Do it 3 times and that will clean it nicely :) oil coolers are fitted post oil filter so the chances of grit etc being in there is about as much chance of it being in your engine currently.
