Mucho Impressed. The attention to detail is fantastic. I have a few chips too.... It's how it goes.
Pics are inspirational to us all..... I need to get my finger out!

Try to smooth out the ripples in the boot seal lip ;D Hairdryer might help.
Stainless cap screws everywhere.... "Proper Job"

Brake servo on, clutch master cylinder on and pin installed (not sure why people say these are hard to do, took me 5 seconds!), washer jets installed and wing mirrors on.

Finished off the dash loom today and installed the Minispares switch lighting kit. Hard wired it into the original loom where I could!

Tried to install the front carpet and found this. Massively disappointing.

....All door, bonnet and boot switches screwed in with stainless fasteners....

I hope you used dry PTFE spray to reduce the chances of galling.
I used 304 stainless bolts on the mild steel spot/fog brackets, one day i might get them out, but it's going to take a lot more than a squirt of penetrating fluid!

My moulded front carpet sits like that when just placed - I haven't got round to fitting the crossmember section yet. I imagine the front one needs to be fixed tight to the crossmember using the ring fixings that you screw to the floor provided? Will be watching how you deal with this because I'd like to get on with mine! Are you using the felt underlay?

Fitted mine today Steve
Ill try to post a pic up if I can get photobucket to work
Didnt have that problem and yes I too have the same Newton carpet set
I have had to trim it around the rear bins which is annoying as they are supposed to just fit being made from the original moulds
Just to note jay had the same set in his car and that went in a treat 🤔

I use copper slip in the threads, then Dynax UC behind them. I'm trying my best to prevent electro-corrosion

Hi John,

I've moved it as far backwards to the cross member as possible but the driver's side is right up against it but the passenger side has got this massive gap. I'm not going to screw anything through the floor if i can help it! Not used the felt underlay, i've used closed cell foam instead.

Please mate, would help! I've seen Pete's (Petrol) pictures and his sits square. Problem I have, is if i trim it to match on the otherside, it pulls it away from the fire wall and creates bagging and ripples at the toe board.

Newton Commercial want me to ring tomorrow to go through options of fitting. I've a feeling they're going to back out of sending me a replacement.

Anyway.. moving on! Cylinder head arrived!

Absolutely amazing quality of work from Phil! Got the block face cleaned up nicely and plopped it on with a BK450 headgasket.

My playmini exhaust turned up too. Ended up in a heated debate with them on facebook messenger about the difference between ID and OD :mmkay:  Turns out their big bore exhaust is 2" OD, not ID as stated. Ah well, it'll do! Much bigger than the RC40 (which will be up for sale once cleaned).

Tomorrow... well i'm not sure what to do until parts turn up! Still waiting on fasteners and some small trim parts before I install the screens O_O  Not looking forward to that job.

I had an issue with my NC seat covers not fitting correctly and have to say their customer service was great - they ended up re-making and fitting all the covers for me

How are you going to deal with your fuse board and the carpet - cut round it and put a cover over it?  Engine bay is looking great.
