I'm not up on Cooper S heads, but think the 12G1805 is one.

It's definitely an early large bore head, it's got 12G1805 stamped on it near the thermostat housing, it has had some porting work (looks like very good work, bullet-nose guides etc).

I bought this last Summer I think.  I bought a load of heads last year, can't remember what I paid for this one, but £200 rings a bell.  I'd like as much of that back as possible, please.

I shall be at Bingley with a car full of parts that I bought but no longer want.

I thought I had pictures, but can't find them on my Photobucket.  I'll take some tomorrow and add them into here.

I think this is the one, I'll confirm tomorrow.

head on left of picture to shows valve sizes compared to a standard GT head.  Obviously it's a leaded head.

All I have done with it is clean up the manifold face, quick look over and buy a new thermostat elbow for it.

Yep a MK3 coopers S type head

They may be a letter stamped under the number S, K are a couple.

This head was fitted to Cooper S. MG1300, 1300GT and Riley Kestrel

They are a good head and dont tend to crack between the valves like the early S heads.

Thanks Ian. The guy I bought it off had it on a 1293 that was apparently pushing 100bhp.

I seem to remember a U being stamped in it by the 12G1805 stamp.

The head us stamped with 12G1805 and then a larger S underneath that stamp.

I still have this available for collection at Bingley.

I will take it with me anyway, come and look for me, or message me for my mobile number and we can meet up so you can view it.  Open to offers, but not silly ones as it's one of those things that's probably worth keeping hold of to be honest.

To be honest Carl it doesn't need much. I'm gonna pop the valves out and do a clean up. The porting and valve boss work is pretty good.

I've had an offer at full asking price, but they can't come to collect it just yet so I'm awaiting confirmation of when they can get here.

Last time I got a head couriered it was about 15 quid I think. So £215 delivered in mainland UK would be cool.
