No we were running kuhmo exsta v700s and we used the super soft compound and cut them. They were so so good but illegal. If you are running 13 inch wheels I strongly reccomended you get these tyres. If you are running 10s unfortunately they do not make khumos in 10 inch.

that is bad news. you are right, short sighted. An R1 engine is 2 sec faster in silverstone then a 140 hp a series but costs 500 till 800 Euro for the R1 engine compared to 15000+ for the A-series and is much more reliable. Through the cradle it is fully reversible. If miglia would be strict historic race cars I would understand this due to originality to conserve but they are not.

This won't help get more classic into motorsport.....

major sponsors and organisators are engine builders, same in german BTC so they see the R1 as enemy. Due to more and more regulations it becomes harder and more and more expensive to race a classic, so an R1 is a huge money safer and an performance improvement at the same time. With this a 10000Euro budget a full race season is very realistic and affordable for a much wider crowed helping to preserve the classic in motorsport. With an a-series you can forget this. Yes there are the "small" mini classes for entry in miglia and BTC but coming from Mini R53/R56 with 260hp+, Lotus exige and BMW E30 with V8 track cars and daily drivers over 400hp a 80hp/600kg Mini is simply not interesting. The Mini R1 with a power to weight ratio from around 2,5 till 3 HP pro kg plays in a different league with a huge fun factor but with costs lower then all my track cars before. That it fits in the back of a van makes it even more attractive, bye bye trailering.

the V700s in 185/70/13 in compound 11 ? How did you fit them? Have Michelin slicks with 553 mm diameter and they hardly fit, 590 is no go. Could you please make a picture of the cut kumho.

some other good tips for 13 inch tyres for track use (e.g. slicks) would be welcome. Mini is 500kg so super soft compound needed in 13 inch to get it warm.

Though I go down to 10 inch because all I found was soft or medium in slicks/semi in 13 inch but I need super soft to get them warm due to the low 500kg weight. But everything on the car is already 13 inch plus very good condition when I bought it, if I get 13 inch tyres in super soft (Semi, slick) I will try a season with the 13 inch setup I have and focus on getting the car reliable by fixing all the little things that will appear for sure and get used to it instead of spending time&money converting to 10 inch now.

Well I run the khumos on caterhams so we run the 195s and the 205s as we run wide wheels. Yup k11 super sifts are very good however you will chew them up instantly. Use them for wet weather. Il get some pics later. For drys I would use medium compound

Have Michelin 165/53/13 Slicks in soft on now and I hardly get them warm if temps below 25 degrees. Car is too light for them and therefor the very stiff sidewalls of this slick don't work enough to get it warm. Due to specifications the kumho have soft sidewalls compared to them so they should work. But in fitting 175/60/13 they are only available in soft k21 compound. Will give it a try...
