One way to sort this......get on a drag strip and see what the extra 3 british leyland horsies can do versus the 117bhp engine......or you can do it Fast and Furious stylee and race for 'pink slips'!!!!!

no that's not what you said, what you said was this

and then it transpires that you paid 6K for your 120bhp, not 4k that this 117bhp, so in affect you paid 2k for 3 bhp
Don't forget the twin-k engine's second hand and probably cost more that £6k to build.

Its a cross flow head, you will get more volumetric efficiency, it may aswell be a different engine now! You almost cant compair the two, the engine characteristics will differ greatly and not just the torque it will create, but at what points in the range.
It is what it is, he's obviously trying to get what he thinks its worth, if it is worth that, then someone will buy it or he will be forced to drop the price to sell.
