so back to the dashboard. I got some veneer bits from ebay (about £4) so set about cutting the bad parts out of the dash, and making pieces to fit. I've tried to use the knots and cut aroudn them to hide the join:

Have stuck them down and clamped them together. Hopefully it'll work!

I have also had some more parts back from the powder coating. Annoyingly they powder coated the hinges when I asked them just to blast them, so they are stuck fast! He's said he'll take them back and fix 'em

I set about rebuilding the servo. I didn't buy a replacement kits as that was £60, so hopefully it'll be ok:

And I also finished the welding on the door:

That'll do for today!

Decided to take a stab at getting some bits put on the front subframe as I just wanted to build something easy for a change!

One cleaned and powdercoated subframe and a bag 'o bits from Minispares:

kT7cG46.jpg

Bump Stops:

Front brake pip clips:

o7uXXvr.jpg

Cleaned and painted front brake pipe:

O735kdV.jpg

top and bottom arms loosely fitted:

P5IydFB.jpg

Had a bit of an issue fitting one of the arms as the rubber was too tight. Just lightly sanded the rubber and its fitted!

IqJhd8x.jpg

One side done:

CpvZYvc.jpg

and as much as I can do this weekend:

Kpwk3Bu.jpg

These lock nuts are just too deep, so will swap for normal nuts:

BU99LAO.jpg

Also added the engine mounts to the gear box and clutch ends:

aQyTH95.jpg

MdF3WkA.jpg

Then I got the rear subframe down and made a start on that:

up4HNAj.jpg

chW2Q9i.jpg

Just added the tape on the ends (as per factory)

Will try and make the rear brake pipes next

Been workgin nights at F1 covering the Australian race, so have had no time to work on the car! Finally got over the jet lag (I didn't even go to oz!) so got into the garage today.

Started slow with cleaning up the threads on thre rear subframe:

V7iQwQw.jpg

Then got on with making the rear brake pipes:

tsA9KfE.jpg

and got them sprayed:

WcHRLlS.jpg

Cleaned up the 3 way brake union:

USO5yoa.jpg

and fitted:

0449xEa.jpg?1

Also made a start on the front to rear pipe. This bit goes over the subframe to the rear union:

That'll do for now!

Nice to see you've done things modular! It makes re-assemble SO much easier!

You want updates? I'll give you updates!

Does adding washers to a pipe constitute an update...? ;)

Took a trip to Minispares yesterday and got some bits and bobs. Mostly washers. Cleaned up the brake union for the front and put that on me new pipe:

rGgecyv.jpg

and added the other side:

rYac5Ce.jpg

I stripped down the track rod ends and got htem primed. Will replace the covers with the new poly ones Minispares have

uzBa06t.jpg

I'd made a start on the clutch pipe, so needed to put the other bits back on to get it made up properly:

eAHggZM.jpg

Not sure if you can spot the mistake... The pipe is too tall and fouls the relay pack connectors!

SZc8Oia.jpg

Quite glad I put the servo bracket back on (just to see what it looks like really) as I would have made the pipe up thinking it was fine, and only discover the problem when I finally put everything back in. Shortened the curve and all was well:

AbNJyGl.jpg

CurYRZk.jpg

Will get that painted green too

Got some new quadrants and gave them a coat of laqure. No idea if that will stop tarnishign, but I'll give it a go

gXKUydx.jpg

eX0sYk7.jpg

Will get them all fitted up properly soon.

In other news I'll have to be moving house soon, so need to pull my finger out and get the blooming thing finished!

More bits and bobs done. Cleaned up the subframe front pins and gave them some lacquer:

7XtmhtA.jpg

Repainted the subframe mounts as they had started to rust already!

U1jzLop.jpg

also touched up the paint on the Radius arms and the drive shafts:

IrwuogB.jpg

iMjEOgg.jpg

and painted the track rod ends (still need new covers)

J6YU4gm.jpg

I also cleaned up the clutch plunger and fitted a new release bearing:

2FWiRMO.jpg

AlchNAO.jpg

The pins are all pretty worn so will order new ones:

it5osZp.jpg

I also cleaned up the rear lights with new seals and foam:

vxTZuWg.jpg

tzICRzM.jpg

AqoL7UA.jpg

And popped them on the car for a laugh! Not sure the light->body rubber is quite the right shape...

That's it for today!

Got the rear subframe pretty much finished off. Not goign to put the radius arms on until its back on the car as it'll just be too heavy to move:

3ktEIOu.jpg

FNwjgop.jpg

I then got the front-rear brake line done:

That'll do

Some small updates. I need to get the body ready for painting soon (hopefulyl in a month) so getting on with all the little bits I've bene putting off. Got the nearside wheel arch holes drilled:

0CDhSOa.jpg

9zFDqBS.jpg

I then drilled the holes for the companion bin liners:

ZkXSvNy.jpg

su5TRD5.jpg

JdnqZMy.jpg

ehBfPav.jpg

1NrDRrG.jpg

I had to trim the passenger side one a bit to get it to sit flush. It's also slightly cracked around the screw hole, so will need to patch that from the back

I then turned my attention to the bonnet. I've not touched it at all since i started the project. There was some rust around the front lip, so have made a start on cleaning thatup

DLdnBjH.jpg

JmiHTBg.jpg

BHnFWaL.jpg

I also cleaned up the spring/catch and will attempt to get a better fit on the front

Thats it for today!

Floor time! In my effort to get the body ready for painting, I've cleaned up the floor, sanded it down and got it primed. This is just to get the floor ready for the sound deadening panels. I'll be spraying a colour topcoat on to seal the primer:
