:wales: I've managed to start my engine after re-timing it, it seemed to get hot after about 2 minutes reaching just over normal on the temp gauge before i turned it off. I gave it a quick rev (not flat out) and it remained in negative boost, I haven't got access to a timing light for a few days but I'm pretty sure it's very close. I'm not sure if it was an air lock that caused the sudden temp. rise and suspect the problem may lye with the fuel pressure regulator, has anybody else had similar problems or have any other ideas as to what it may be? I took a plug out and it seemed very black so it's definitely getting to much petrol, as I've said before I'm not to hot on turbos so any suggestions are grately appreciated. :D thanks

If your timings out it may get hot quite quickly. Have you got a proper temp gauge ? not just the standard "guessometer" ?
As regards the fuel pressure, have you checked it ? it should be 3-4psi at idle.
You won't see any boost just from revving it on the spot, you need to put the engine under load by driving it before you'll see any real boost.

Just the standard for now, I've had it running again but before starting it I checked the coolant level and it needed atleast a litre, I ran it for approx 1/2 an hour and the temp. stayed just below normal but the oil pressure dropped to 1 bar at tick over. The fuel mixture is still to rich but I'll soon sort that, so far I feel the signs are good. Thanks for the positive words guys :D it's all appreciated
