Got a mk1 style grille on mine with moustache bits, looks like a minisport one I think. Its been on a year and a half and to be honest looks a state. Almost all the rivets have broken, the inside of the surround has rusted and the black painted bits that hold all the slats together have rusted really badly.
Is there stainless steel mk1 grilles available? I can't seem to find any. If not are there better quality ones available then mine? Seems it was a rip off at £120!!!

I think the main grille part is usually stainless, and the moustache is chrome. As always nowadays tho the chrome is *******, and will rust in no time (esp. round the edges where the chrome is particularly thin). The black painted part is normally a pretty poor job too, so they flake and rust.
I don't know what to suggest tho, aside from drilling out the rivets, take the black part back to bare metal and painting, and reassembling. As you say for the price of them you shouldn't have to do this but such is life it seems...
