The whole wing is spot welded in place so you need to find all of these to remove them. Have a look at the Project Erm link in my signature and you will see what and where you need drill, remove etc.

Chop the majoritie off, then as above drill out the spot welds where it's attached to.

Cut just in front of it so you don't damage it, then you can see the spot welds which you can drill out and remove the rest of the wing.

Gives you better access to the engine etc but you do lose a lot of strength by doing that.

Yes its MOT legal but as i said not strong and to be honest i would never recommend it. The scuttle is spot welded in place along the windscreen frame, one on each point where it sits on the inner wing and a couple down the flanges at each end. Its also spot welded to the scuttle closeout as well.

My Heritage inner wing came with the crossmember reinforcing plate already on it, so depending on where you get one from you might not need to fabricate your own. Only speaking from my end, and Sonikks got acres more knowledge and experience than me so if I'm wrong please correct me :)

You really need to remove the paint etc back to bare metal to expose the spot weld locations, then use a spot weld bit to drill each one out. Eventually you'll be able to remove the inner wing, but it might need to come out in cut sections if its difficult to remove in one go.
