He really is a pratt. Having a laugh is one thing but continually being offensive and thinking its 'funny' is different. I am not surprised this has happened as he thinks he is above everyone with the way he talks and acts. No one is irreplaceable and there are loads of people that would do a better job, just please and for the love of God let it not be Quentin Wilson!

Well said, having said that - I would vote for Guy Martin !!
I've just seen on the news the guy he is alleged to have hit, he does have that annoying look about him !!
Having also worked on many film sets over the years, there is nothing worse than having got up and travelled to a first call of 6am then sitting on your bum until mid afternoon for your, delayed, piece to camera. Then having a late finish (after 6pm) and on location ( often locked down with no option other than to Stay on set) it is more than a little irritating when you are starving and want a cup of tea...
YES YES YES! Guy Martin is a legend, he would be perfect. now, how do I start a petition? ;-)

No one is irreplaceable.

Who knows, maybe they will sack him, keep the other two and bring in a hot young girl. That could be entertaining to watch, as she puts the other two to shame with driving skills and knowledge.

Imagine a petrol head version of someone like Rachel Riley. She's funny, a good presenter and certainly nice to look at!

It could do with some new blood on the show either way

What about Sabine Schmitz..? Not everyone's idea of hot, but I wouldn't climb over her to get to Jezzer! (I'd describe her as a petrol-headed Rachel Riley)

I knew someone would say Sabine.

Sabine is ok, but not hot enough imo (obviously looks are subjective..) I think younger, hotter and ideally an unknown given a shot. There are great looking female petrol heads out there. Looks arent everything, but I think on a ratings front its the way they have the best chance of keeping, if not gaining viewers

I think the BBC, given the PC ness, would be in a world of trouble if they gave the job to a girl because she was hot!

Problem is in today's society you cannot fart without someone taking offence. Clarkson is a self centred toss pot but the show is what it is and it works well. For a lot of people its like Marmite, you either like it or loathe it.

The three work well together but they need the three together to make it work. I find Hammond on his own to be bland and boring. I like May and he does have some skills.

Now having Guy Martin on as a presenter i'm not sure would work. I like Guy and i love his programs as they show his interest in all things mechanical. BUT as a TG presenter i feel he would not really work. Might be different though if they let him say what he thinks but somehow i think the grown ups would not like that.

Guy Martin is a modern-day icon, WAY better than Clarkson in SO many ways.

Clarkson is an absolute ape and no matter how many apologists there are for him, you can NOT punch colleagues and expect to get away with it.  The amount of idiots trolling Facebook getting all hurt about Clarkson being suspended is a joke.  Calling for him to be PM, for the licence fee to be repaid because it's the only thing they watch...what a load of tripe.

And the way Top Gear has been dumbed down is just crazy.  It's as though their target audience is 15 year olds these days.

I haven't actually heard if he DID punch him or not.

Could be a load of rubbish

Well, if it turns out he hasn't, then it's nothing but a HUGE publicity stunt.  They wouldn't have suspended him and made the allegations so public if there was no grounds to believe it.  IF it was just an allegation, then they could have suspended, internally investigated all within a matter of hours, or a day or two.

Well, there are no clear reports coming out either and so until we know the facts it's impossible to say. Modern work environments are very sensitive I have to say, you have to be extremely careful what you do. If he has punched someone, then yes I guess he does deserve to lose his job. It doesn't change the fact that TG won't be the same without him. Fifth Gear gets nowhere near the same audiences or money made from it, and a lot of that comes down to the personalities involved. There are plenty of online resources for really serious motoring enthusiasts if they are looking for that and TG is much more entertainment that factual these days.

The same people calling for him to be PM will be those that say they aren't voting because the politicians are idiots and actually have no idea of politics, the impacts or anything else.

 sorry but I laughed out loud when I read about Guys people skills, remember that he would be replacing Clarkson - the man who makes Himler look like a tolerant 'people person'.

Did you see 'our Guy in India'? He was brilliant, whether it was a poor guy in the gutter or the richest man in India.

I dont see him as being able to talk to a Hollywood celebrity really without getting tongue tied or starstruck  etc . And by his own admisssion he is a bit funny about that , he was akward as hell on the one show , and does not like the attention much .

He's good at what h is doing but i dont think presenting would be for him . I get the impression people would like him to just because he is a proper grease monkey , but Top Gear is half theatre , not just cars .

 Just my view .

Im a massive Guy Martin fan but he wouldn't be right for TG. Guy works best on his own, plus he suffers from ADHD or something which makes it difficult for him to socialise (read that in his autobiography). when he does the TT he sleeps on his own in his van whilst his mate rent a house on the other side of Island.
Although his series when him and his mate Mave travelled about on that canal boat was good.
