:D Has anyone out there done the BMW K series 16 valve head conversion yet - I have been to coalville and seen one in the workshops, but do the figures and revs to 8000 really stack up?
I really want something fresh and new for my cabriolet but dont want to hack-up the front end.

many thanks

roofless.

Think minisprockets the man for that, and as you have said morspeed is basing his 16v conversion on the BMW head.

A guy in my mini club is building two for his degree, one is just a display item to a high quality finish but few internals and the other is going to go in his mini after hes finished the project and thats got all the high quality internals.

TheMiniMan over here in Australia has done one of these.. he's about to turbo charge it I believe.. and is also starting to make some 'kits' for this conversion.
Some info here about it:

Theres videos of it running floating around aswell.. A whole thread on ausmini.com about it also, but the forums are down at the moment.

We have been producing kits for the BMW 'K' 16v conversion since febuary 2006 with great results, these kits have gone as far as USA, Africa, Egypt and srilanka.

Infact Jon Kimmins who's car is in this months PPC magazine is using one of my kits which he purchased in march 2006.

We have also built 6 complete engines now and also have kentcams on board making all the pullys and belts so quality is 100%.

We also have 3 cam profiles which are dyno proven with the full race profile giving 182bhp.

Watch out for 2 of my 'K' engines racing in the extremes in august.

Simon
