Anyone know if I still use this piece while using KAD brakes

I dunno, what does the KAD fitting instructions say? I also didn't know that KAD made anything for a big truck like that.

Perhaps a seat cover wouldn't go a stray though.

You mean the do-da you're holding in yr hand?  I gotta say, I've not seen anything like that on a Mini. Was it part of your original assy?

Yeah its from the original assembly. Rubber inside it used to cover the bearings on the outside.. It doesnt sit flush with the new timkens in the Kad HuB so im thinking its not used

This is probably the easiest way to show how the stock assy is (and I'm fairly sure the KD one would be the same in this regards) :-

RearHubAssy_zpsmmazj8an.jpg

Item

18         is the Hub itself

19         Wheel Stud

20         Wheel Nut

22         Grease Seal - for tapered bearings these actually go in what most people would think is back to front, ie spring is visible

23         Inner and Outer Bearings

24         Spacer - most Tapered Bearings have this built in to them these days

(not shown)   Heavy Washer (as per your link above)

25         Nut

(not shown)    Split Pin

26         Grease / Dust Cap

The Nut is torqued up to 40 ft/lbs and then further tightened to align to the next slot to get the split pin in. NOTE that the LH side has a Left Hand thread.

No you should have a thick washer then a nut that holds the bearing in.
