Vent? On The Underside Of Eaton Charger

Helping a friend to get his fresh built charged engine running and sorting out a few minor issues however not being familiar with the charger can somebody tell me/him what the red plug under the charger (inlet end) should be connected to if anything or blocked of and how

It should be blocked. On the BMW mini a hard plastic pipe is pushed in there which connects to the PCV (Positive Crank Ventilation) port on the valve cover.

Thanks, So he's got a massive inlet leak then at the minute - that wont help.

 

Any suggestions on what how to block it please?

Also I've been reading up to make sure we've covered all bases and Vmax mention oil for the charger?

 

How much oil and where abouts does it go in? pictures please

The nose gear side takes 145cc off oil and the rear side water pump gear takes 40cc off oil. there will be two 3/16 Allen key plugs each end black In colour. You can buy kit off eBay item number160672340757

Thanks for the info will check there is some oil in it

 

Anybody any idea on blocking the vent

Pretty sure if it has the red bung in at vent that's it blocked off

I made a aluminium plug that fits in the red clip. Just what ever you do make sure it can't get sucked into the charger other wise you right it off lol. Speak to vmax scart may sell them dun no.

The fitting pressed into the body of the charger is black with a red collar. The bung then goes into that.
