I am very happy with the way it drove over the 2 - 1/2 days of driving and was amazed that i drove all the way back with NO ISSUES AT ALL. Now all it needs is a good carby tune some new tyres and a wheel alignment then its off of the Vic RWC.

So far my plan is just to do a little bit of tidying up. So far I have changed the tail lights , added new door rubbers , boot rubbers , added rubber strips to the flared arches new tank seals and also matching petrol caps on both sides plus a few others bits and bobs. I am also getting it ready for a vic roadworthy inspection.

Looks great, enjoy!

Thanks I am planing to join vic mini club ASAP and hope to got to some shows and have a blast while I build my other on up

Almost there now just replaced all the studs and got new wheel nuts (due to 2 studs striping them selves). The car is currently at a garage getting an inspection and a carby tune. Next on the list is 5 new tyres and a wheel alignment. then its off for the roadworthy

Been a while since i have posted anything on the forums been a little to busy fixing up the mini.So after a massive under taking the mini is now roadworth after allot of issues and a lot Victorian laws i am hopefully done.
so i haven't been driving the car much as of late this is due to the head needing reconditioned it was blowing a fair bit of blue smoke so i suspected the valve stem seals. i pulled the whole car apart to find a very unhappy cylinder head.
for some strange reason where ever it had be reconditioned it had incorrect valve stem seals fitted to the head and also the head was warped in the middle courseed it not to fix nicely. Thats now all been fixed but need to have a further in depth look in to the car.

- I wanted to have a look at the wiring and what i found was a small mess so that need fixing, long story short the whole car has been rewired and all the conetions have been soldiered and Heat shrinked. Plus around 1m or wireing and a lot of tape has been removed from the car all together.
- There was also a small issue with the gear stick rattling so i replaced all of the plastic parts on the end of the gear stick. I was also driving along the hwy way after fixing the stick and it was perfect no rattle but i want in to 3rd gear and the stick snapped in half turned out it had been welded back two one piece to shorten it so that ha to be replaced.
- I had to replace 2 tyres but ended up buying a whole new set of 10x6 star mags with new tyres.
- Couldn't get the carb right so that had to have a small strip down and rebuild just new gaskets / springs ect.
- Had to replace the Speedo sable as the magnets in the gauge and seesed coursing the cable to snap.
- Also replaced the Speedo gauge and fuel / temp gauge with factory ones.
- Replaced the rear boot rubber seal with the correct one.
- Replaced the wiring for the fuel sender units and also replaced the senders.
- Replaced both fuel caps to they match but have now notesed that the filler necks are at different heights and you can see this when look at the car from behind.
- Removed the sump guard.
- Removed all the toggle switches so now the high beam is back on the indicator stalk but keeped the ones for the wipers and also washer fluid.
- Removed the ugly black air box and replaced with a new K&N Filter
- All new spark plug leads and spark plugs (the spark plugs in the car where too hot so they melted the leads a little)
- New rocker cover
- The front grill has been riveted on correctly
- The exhaust has been removed and painted black with heatproof paint
- The rubber fuel line that was over the exhaust has been replace and wrapped in heat proofing metal (it was showing signs of melting)
- There is some bubbling of the paint in the front right A-Panel
- Fixed the steering wheel turned out 2 of the screws have vibrated out the back
- Both sun visors have been fixed (they where all seased up and the plastic was stiff and wouldn't fold down)
- Had to realigned the drives side window due to it being extramly hard to wind the window up and down
- Placed Rubber flare strips between the down and the flares
- Fitted new tail light lenses
- Fitted new park light lenses
- Replaced both main beam bulbs
- Fitted missing hoses and also missing wires from the heat box controls and removed the windscreen to fit the hoses that blow air on the windscreen
- Made are rear parcel shelf (due to it never having one and only having cardboard over the speekholes)
- Replaced both rear seat belts due to them being Odd and not the same plus a little sign of fraying
- Fitted a whole new sound system
- Got all new wheel studs to two wheel bolts working loose and falling off

- Fixed the bonnet pins

- Fitted new handbake cables

- Greassed all the subframes and other nipples

- Adjused all the brakes

I am sure there is a lot that i have missed but yea it was a lot of work and money that i didn't have at points i was just going to sell it but i just couldn't bring myself to doing it due to having so much fun driving it home from Queensland.

apart from all these issues i like the car so far.

Nice one dude. The new wheels look awesome :) Sucks about the gear lever, at least you've gotten it sorted now.

Surprised to hear about the rust, though I guess all minis rust.

so after a little bit of time and money it looks as if the head i though was the issue is no longer the issue.

To quote last post

"So i haven't been driving the car much as of late this is due to the head needing reconditioned it was blowing a fair bit of blue smoke so i suspected the valve stem seals. Thats now all been fixed but need to have a further in depth look in to"

So this is the list of items i have now replaced / fixed.

-New Wiring For The H4 Head Lights

-New Drive Shafts

- Full Stage 3 Paint Correction

- New Exhaust Mounts

- New K&N Air Filter

Heep of other parts but the engine is still blowing smoke and its putting my off going to club days ect due to being embarrassed and annoyed because it shouldn't be doing it.

Valve springs to suit cam (dual?)
