Hello,

I currently have a bare shell and hopefully everything to reassemble. Like a giant lego kit.

Has anyone made a comprehensive list for most efficient assembly order. I.e. I know you need to put the steering rack on before front subframe.

Things like this that mean I hopefully only have to do things once.

Connect the speedo cable to the engine before dropping it in

It all depends on what toots and equipment you have access to, but generally, get it down on it's wheels first with all the brake lines, petrol lines underneath the car fitted and working before... working your way up the car... makes it a lot easier if it's rolling.

Make sure doors, bonnet and boot fit and then remove and stash...

then finish off all the mechanicals, electrics and anything else which involves dirt...

Finally interior.

First thing to make sure is that the body shell is properly ready

As Guess Works has said, depends on what facilities and tools you have.

I have a 'trolley' for mounting the body to, it brings it up to a nice working height, so for me, the way I usually go about it is;-

Do the interior complete, including wiring loom, trim, all glass, dash, instruments (thought depending on what actual instrumental, this may

only be a trial fit) pedal box, trial fit the steering column, seats, sound system, carpet etc. for me, next to sorting the shell and paint, this would be the next biggest part,

Engine Bay fittings

Boot fittings, trial fit the fuel tanks, trial fit boot lid

Front to Rear Piping and Battery Cable

Fit doors (build first)

Steering Rack

Front subframe

Rear Subframe

Fuel Tanks

Boot Lid

Fit engine

Drive

It helps being nuts, one just blends in with all the others.
