Is there such a thing as a nitro/petrol RC classic mini? I'm a total newbie with this, but have always wanted one.

Yep, It's a Tamiya m05 I think, with the classic mini shell.

Budget is around the £200 mark. Decided on battery as there's less maintenance really. As for the model we just decided on looks as were only planning on using it on Tarmac and light off road.
I thinks we need a little further investigation 😁

Get a buggy and modify it. Lower it (adjustable shock mounts etc..) and add slick(er) tyres for on road. Buggies are more robust and can be just as quick as a road car and probably more stable. You can still put a mini shell on if you really want, just remove the wing and get bigger shell mounts

Tamiya once made a nitro Mini, it was a TG10 chassis. They're quite old and collectible these days so to buy one as a runner would be expensive.

Tamiya did do a '1.8th' scale mini body on the shaft driven 4wd 10th tg10 chassis using slightly larger wheels.

But, around the same time kyosho did a front wheel drive nitro version... http://www.tamiyaclu...d=67430&id=7909

And Hpi even did a 'mini' version of there rs4 chassis, witch was belt driven and 4wd.

I had no idea there had been so many nitro Minis produced. I bet that Kyosho FWD would have been an interesting drive!

I dragged the Savage down off the top shelf and assessed the damage on the engine tonight. Lucky for me although I was daft enough to leave half a tank of fuel in it as I had the intention of having it out again the next day and then forgot about it for almost two years I was on the ball enough that I swapped the lines around and plumbed the fuel out of the tank in to the tank return and the exhaust return in to the carb so the damage was minimised.

It's not happy but It'll go again after some TLC I think.

I should probably get a new clutch too and I might put some thick fluid in the rear diff.

It looks like the esc in my tlo1 is dead, as after 5 minuets or running with a few full throttle speed runs, the esc seams to go into 'batteries dead' mode. Where it only moves for half an inches and then stops, then when it does move off for longer its only at about 30% power and as soon as full throttle is applied it stalls again.

But the same dead battery once swapped into my mo3 mini with a standard silver can motor and mtronics esc, will last for another 15 minuets and actually be faster than the tl01 with the 18t motor. Although looking on eBay, for once I'm stumped as I'm basically after a brushed esc with around a 15 to 12turn motor limit.

Who wants to have a guess at what this? I've recently put it back together form the mountain of broken/spares I have. The blue shocks and the adjustable top links are not standard and so is the mg body.
