I have a Mini 25 UK spec as do a few others on here.
I'm not sure if there was a separate model for the overseas market.
Is it RHD?

Obviously there are both rhd and lhd mini 25's, but the only variation I know off (as I have a separate sales brochure) is the French ones had and extra 'anniversary' scrip under the mini 25 logos and didn't have the radio or parcel shelf speakers.

Go to mini25.com, mine is the car towards the bottom of the page, the Germany to Oregon (now in SC). We also can't find those wheels in any catalog as being offered as stock (they are genuine Austin Rover wheels for sure).

I think they are Maifrini wheels. whether or not they are factory fitted to export models, i don't know..
as for the registration date, 1986 would be quite possible. A few were registered in 1983 too. I think there was one knocking about a while ago that was still brand new and never registered.
It is certainly an interesting car, let us know if you can find out anything else about it as i think it would be very interesting.
Are you intending to re fit the stripes to it?

VIN - SAXXL2S1R21259880
BODY CODE - ABE8224/2
ENGINE CODE - 99HA53P113389 (SINGLE CARB W/ TIMING CHEST, NON A+)
Note - regarding engine code, that "P" could also be a "0" due to wear.
CHASSIS CODE - B20S
Note - very difficult to read as the paint layer has made the alphanumeric nearly indecipherable.
TRIM CODE - LCG
PAINT CODE - MME

Ben_O - I owe you a beer! Spot on with the rim mfg, fascinating! I have the single spare with original Mini 25 rim. These maifrina rims look higher end, picky Germans ;)

Hi, is it correct that none of the Mini 25's produced were designated for North America, only UK and Euro versions. Does anyone know how many 25's are still on the road today?
by the way, is it worth getting a heritage certificate?
Thanks again - cheers
I don't think the Mini was being sold in North America by 1984, so I imagine you're right.
In the UK there are apparently 125 on the road and 310 on SORN.

I'm not sure you can get a heritage certificate for an 80's Mini?
Feel free to correct me though....

Further to your Web Research request the build records for Rover Mini's are not in our archive collection so I am unable to answer your question.
I will arrange a refund of your £6.00 payment as soon as possible
Moving on, any other ideas?
