Oooh thanks! For some reason not all items pop up on ebay when I'm on android tablet, might keep an eye on those.

And thanks on the compliments on the car too, standard all the way this one, it's very comfy with the last of the Mayfair spec and goes well enough with the carb'd 1275 so no need to muck around really, just try and keep the rust away! :-)

Decided to sort this mess of stripes out, the original grey on the door had black on top, the wing has only black due to a partial front end blow over and the rear quarter only the original grey as the black probably came off. Got 50 metres of grey off ebay, removed a panel at a time, polished and replaced the stripe and managed to tidy up the front where they had painted up to it a bit, why do people do it?!

Only a minor detail but it was bugging me even though I didn't notice it for a week after buying the car, passenger side is all grey and clear coated over on the wing so that can wait until any future paintwork.

New fuel sender in and working! I now have a full "full" tank so lets see if I can do more than 100 miles between filling up! Moved the window winders around so my knees don't hit them when the window is shut or down an inch, little things make such a difference :-)

Finally fitted the expensive stainless rear bumper I bought ages ago, tbf it does fit quite well. Touched in the underside underseal that had been scraped off on a speed bump plus a general check over underneath.

Very nice looking standard Mayfair, far too many are loosing their identity now. Which makes stock ones quite rare - Good Work

I've given the car it's full annual service plus a few little jobs done, I decided whilst it's in the air I'd better sort the front valance out then go around the whole car doing small touch ups before it gets a serious dose of Autoglym HD wax.

I've done my first 'half' decent weld putting a little piece into the O/S A panel.

It's joggled behind with a half inch overlap, solid as a rock, all caused by the mud trapped inside the wheel arch!

Your welding looks neat! Wish mine was that good :proud: enjoyed looking through your posts as your mini reminds me of the 92 sprite i am rebuilding - except yours looks way better! Thanks for sharing

Thanks! I'm a total novice at welding, I've got a huge morris minor project to do, I was hoping to learn to weld on that before touching the mini but I knew that rot would spread!By the time I've done the moggy this mini will be ready for outer sills in a few years, if all goes well I'll try doing them myself :-O
