I've been sorting this today, the rest of the frame is sound, I think it's where the paint has chipped off from people jacking it up. I was changing the rear knuckles and I've rust converted and painted the frame,I'll coat it in waxoyl when the weather warms up.
Cut out the whole end section and butt/puddle welded a piece in after rust treating and weld thru priming everything. Can't see the mot man failing that?

Thanks Mark, I am slowly getting it totally standard and as tidy as possible, one day it will go to Ben_O for a full concours rebuild! I was hoping to hold off on the sills but the covered over flutes was rotting the floor as you can see in the pics, the rest near the bins and rear subframe is thankfully good so it will be getting a gallon of waxoyl inside them too when the weather warms up.
I have 4 new black arches to fit along with gutter trim and some dealer stickers etc, got a new front plate in the big pre 2001 font as the modern one just looked wrong.
4 brand new wheel trims would finish it off a treat but I just can't get them, the Cooper wheels would have been an option on a Mayfair of this age so I might get a set refurbed to as new and fit them at some point but I do like the basic original look.
