if youve not already got it, they talk about it in this months (august's) mini world and have a step by step guide to doing it :geek:

Ok, buy some 600-800 wet and dry paper (2-3 A4 sheets should do it.)

Using the wet and dry WET, flat the roof back, make sure you get rid of all the shine from the paint work and you should be left with a Matt finish (smooth with no gloss at all.) any rust should be taken back to bare metal, treated and then primered.

Now rub down the roof with a clean rag and some white spirit, this degreases the surface and gives you a nice clean surface for the paint to adhere to.

mask off the car completely! this means walking round the car with a load of paper (use newspaper if you must but good ol' brown parcel paper is good stuff to use) and put masking tape to hold it on. This stops you spraying the rest of the car by accident lol.

Now you're ready to put primer down. then flat the primer with 800 wet and dry, then you're ready for top coat.

A very good finish can be achieved with Halfords Rattle cans if you take you're time.
