Hi all,

Does anyone know if the centre of the lower plastic steering column bush is meant to be round?

Sounds a silly question but the new one I've got seems to have flat sides to it?

Also how far up do people fit the lower bush into the outer column tube? Haynes doesn't seem to cover the plastic bush only the felt and there seems to be a few notches on the bush to determine how far up to push it?

Thanks.

Yours may be different to mine but so far as shape goes, yes it is sort of octagonal shape and mine is in flush with end. I put new ones in mine to stop it rattling at idle and not touching s/wheel, it still does. :-(

Is it just the case of pushing the bottom bush up using the inner column?
