I have a clean up of my engine bay today and put some new shiny bits in it.

-I first cleaned it all with gunk
-Then i wire brushed the engine
-Then i gave it a lick of paint.
-I then put a new rocker cover on
-Then i took the air filter box off and put a K&N cone on.
-Then i put a blue coil cover in.
-i also painted the radiator bracker.
-then i clipped the wires up so they were not very visable and makes thing tidier.

What do you think of the change???

is there anything else i can do to make it look a litle better

(i also have got a fuse box cover and wiper motor cover)

Nice work young man.

Coil covers not too good an idea though IMHO. They are very flashy and blingy and all that but coils need air to get to them, to the bare alloy casing they are wrapped in. They produce heat and need to get cooling air directly.

You could take the alternator off and give that a lick of paint.
And may be give the radiator a once over with some black paint (no need to take it out).

But what you will find with this British weather that the engine won't stay so yellow and bright for too long.

Ps. was thing king of a chrome rocker cover for mine (yellow engine) but wasn’t sure it would look right, but now I’ve seen yours it does. :dozing: So I can add that to the want list. :geek:

Or the one I prefer (just because I always have a can the boot) WD40, but doesn’t last long though.

I've got some of it in my engine bay

Posted Image

I couldn't be bothered to drain the coolant at the time so did all except the water hoses.

It's not the easiest stuff to fit and tends to fray and the ends a little bit unless secured properly.
But it does brighten up the bay and is a lot cheaper than samco coloured hoses

I reckon if you did all the hoses and took your time it would look ok :geek:

Just leave it black (suppose you still have loads of the yellow left) as it might be a bit too much of one colour.
