Hello all,

 

ITV are on the hunt for a very special Classic Mini to film as part of a car restoration show. They're on the hunt for a Blue Peter moment of here's one I made earlier.

 

To be eligible for this unique opportunity to show off your motor on national TV, they're looking for a 1960's Mini in mint condition based in the Midlands which will be filmed in a couple of weeks time. If you're interested please PM.

Hi Cubby,

 

I'm one of the Producers on the show.

 

We've already had a few responses but I understand your concerns. 

 

Our hands are slightly tied - we don't want to give away too much about what we're doing but the car we're restoring is a Classic Mini. We're keep the restoration a secret from the owner but we know the owner of the car uses this forum.  In order to keep things under wraps and not to spoil anything for the owner we're asking people to PM so we can provide a few more details. 

 

It's a bit of a tough one but I can confirm that this is a genuine opportunity and we're very excited to build a two way relationship between ourselves and the owner of a gorgeous looking Mini Classic.

I'm not having a go at you its just the profile that was used in the ops post just had very little info on your company. Its just with all the thefts people have to be really careful. Sorry if this offends anyone

Tanya might be a good shout for this. She has a lovely collection of cars that have been on a few shows now.

I would love you know what you've told the owner of the mini your restoring for them not to worry where their car has disappeared too, considering they dont know your restoring it. It would have to be a good reason to let someone i dont know take my mini away.

Although I understand members being nervous, how the production team go about getting the car they are restoring whilst keeping it from the owner is down to them. That's all sorted.

 

If any member wants their car to be a part of the show then it'll be up to them to ensure there is a proper contract and insurance in place.

 

The OP has provided me with the contact details of the production company he works for, and I'm looking forward to watching the show when it's aired.
