It might be possible but the packaging would be very difficult, as space is definitely at a premium in a mini. Not only that, it would be quite a heavy and complex package so you would end up with a front heavy set up which would be a pain to service. Even if you could overcome all that, superchargers are inefficient compared to turbos so you'd end up with poor mpg and lots of heat to deal with. Now if you use the right turbo, such as a gt17, you could get a responsive engine with lots of power all over the rev range for much less effort and expense.
The only reason I can think of for running a twin charger set up, would be to get a massive turbo on a road car, but then you'd have issues with traction and gearbox reliability which would probably make it unsuitable. I personally would just stick with a well thought out turbo build, as you'd get pretty much all the advantages of a twin charger set up, with fewer drawbacks. That said, if you had enough money and time, you might be able to get a twin turbo set up where a very small turbo takes care of the bottom end, and a larger turbo provides the top end power, but that is a bit of an unknown area as most people seem to stick with a single turbo, simply because with the right turbo, you can get a responsive and powerful engine.

There was a clubby on turbo minis which had both!

I nearly bought that car when it was being sold, didn't have the running gear for the twin charger setup at that time though.
Compound charging is entirely feasible, vw managed it but it results in a really complex system that doesn't work with great reliability. On a mini where the engine is quite small you wont really see great benefits over a well set up turbo system alone. But if you want to do it for the engineering behind it why not!

very complex setup, heat is not the real problem if supercharger is e.g. used with low pressure setup for bottom end/midrange (where you even don't need an intercooler) and then use a bigger turbo for top end.
If you get this working from ecu and charging then solving the heat issue is manageable.
supercharger are very effective if you stay in the green efficiency band of it and less problematic regarding heat and power band delivery then turbocharged.
But I agree from engine size and motor block setup a GT17 turbo setup makes more sense, use the additional money for proper high efficiency inter- and water cooler will bring you more. Power is not everything in the mini...

why would you?
Hugh power is achievable from both set-ups why complicate things.
how much power does a A series need!

Then again, the only car that could beat the might Audi Quattro had both. LOL. The days before the Muppets @ health and safety decided to ruin every form of motorsport.

Can't remember to be honest, but bursting into flames sounds like a Lancia.

yes and huge problems with it due to thousand of engines blown and workshops not able to diagnose and fix issues on this setup.... a mess.....
