If you try and make that into a sleeper I will break into your unit and weld a multi point cage in myself.

c20ne any good? The 1.4 MPI engine is a bit 'reserved' when it comes to power. If I could get a good condition c20xe for £300-£400 I would go for that engine, but most of them are screwed. I can get a fairly low mileage  c20ne for £150-£200, and would try and get a lot of other bits thrown in for a reasonable amount. :shy: A decent 20seh is like gold dust, and seem to command a high price, so that's not an option because I would just go 16v.

I've driven a vectra v6 cdti, and It's a PITA, but sounds nice, so that's put me off v6 engines. :shifty:  :shades:

Alex, it won't be a 'sleeper'.  Decision made!

I'm going to save up (whilst trying to finish the Mini at the same time) to get a Custom Cages weld-in cage and properly prep the shell in the meantime.  Alloy tank, hopefully save up for a decent set of bodies and ECU.  I want to do a stack of research on the usual upgrade that people do.  It looks like fitting larger brakes off later models is easy enough.  I'm getting the Cavalier GSI uprights as part of the engine deal so I think I can fit 256mm vented discs on those and keep the 4 stud hubs.  If I upgrade to 5 stud setup I can fit gert big brakes from a Vectra B V6.  If I keep to standard Vauxhall parts I can have decent brakes but on the cheap!  Obvs I'd like to go for some awesome Wilwoods or something but don't want to go too mad just yet.  Need to look into coilovers and top mounts too.

Engine is out and ready for me to collect on Saturday morning. Heard it running and it's as sweet as a nut too. :D
