Hello Pete, keen to hear how you get on with the hinge project. The arc-angels style of mechanics looks like it would work, big door panel movement to contend with though, plus the 2 different hinge sizes, top and bottom, with 2 different angles working together.  Will be very interested to see how you get on, good luck , Toby

If you do a search on Google for dummy classic mini door hinges or Mark 1 mini fake door hinges you should get images and good photos of the near miss Japanese hinges which have a funny spring arrangement and then the Arc-angels ones with the hinge mechanism behind that enables them to cope with the extreme distance as the door opens and closes....

There have been many enthusiasts that say they cut off the old A panels, pop on mark one A panels and whiz your doors back on using original exterior hinges. This is a big deal to most of us, truth be known it could end up a nightmare for D.I.Y. home mechanics....

Although the picks of the green half finished flatted mini that comes up in the google searches does In fact have original mk1 hinges on a later shell, NOT the fake stick-on ones....

Hello again Peteh,  just wondering how you got on with the fake mini door hinges, did you get anywhere or hit a brick wall ? Curios to know what happened.  All the best, Toby
