I have been asked to do a rear wheel bearing on a Rover Metro GTA and was just after some pointers.

Are they the same set up as the Mini?

What's involved in replacing them? i.e do i need to press them out and in or can i knock the old ones out like with a Mini?

I have done wheel bearings before, just not on a Metro and because it's going to be done at his house, i need to know what tools i am going to need.

Cheers

Ben

It's probably worth contacting Craig although I haven't seen him online for a while

I think you just get a new metro when the wheel bearings need replacing.

They use the same trailing arms don't they. Old and new tro. Same as a mini but are ball bearings like the drum braked minis.

Mini just pulled off. The stub axles ar the same other than the pin out of the back. People used to use the Mini ones do that could fit rear shocks.

But I have not played with the later Tros.

Turns out its a wheel cylinder, not a bearing so it's all good.

They misread the failure sheet  >_<

I would if it was me but he presented me with a can of brake cleaner for them  :ohno:

Oh well it's his choice i suppose.

it's just funny how he won't spend money on safety items like brakes but has bought a tonne of subs and amps he wants me to install  >_<

How much are shoes?

They'll come away from their backing and jam up.

Hardly worth refitting the old ones. Especially as they have a small baby
