Id say turbo, im in the process of turboing mine and the possibilities and tuning potential is endless! Whereas with a supercharger im not so sure but i dont think theres as many routes you can go down.

Depends what you want out of it,

Im no expert but superchargers are better for performance right through the rev range whereas turbos only kick in at a certain point....

Theres no "lag" as such with a supercharger as they are belt driven. Whereas a turbo runs off exhaust gases so the pressure has to build before giving the best performance, however with a small turbo which you would probably use on a mini the lag wont really be noticeable.

Turbo every time, so much more you can do with them, and easy to upgrade as you need.

With a correctly sized turbo, lag really isn't an issue.

with modern ecu s and turbos   there is no lag if setup properly,

when people speak of s/c they think eaton which as above are for girls.

all comes down to ££££££££££££££££££   and what u are wanting from the setup

but here is me in my own creation smashing lap records at cadwell park,  supercharged,   rotrex,

not come up against another turbod racer that can lap circuits like this setup

I am very interested in this subject as thinking the same so the big question is how much does a supercharger conversion cost compared to a turbo conversion

Is it as simple as buyin a kit and Bolton bits on or do ya have to go deeper

For me surely the noise of a s/c has to be the nuts

there is no kit available for the rotrex kit i have produced, so will prob cost quite a bit more than a turbo setup, a new s/c is about 1800£

i would have thought the turbo rout will be cheaper

I'm no expert, but I have also been looking into the two options, I found that to get reliability and a good figures from a s/c you need injection really, where as turbo works well with a carb, which is what I have, also I don't think you can put a price on the two convertions as people above has said all depends on what you want, a low figure s/c kit you can use a decomp plate but if you want 130bhp+ I believe you have to look in to going low comp pistons worked head etc, plus mappable ignition and more than likely a rebore!
