I wanted to join an international community by logging my resto project.  I live in the Georgia and I found my project in Alabama.  It is a 1960 Austin seven that needs a ton.  I get alot of flack here because many think im crazy trying to save her.  This car was an actual US import into Alabama back in 1960 and eventhough I must replace alot of it, there is still alot left.   I have the motor heritage documentation and the cars history. Every panel looks to be original. maybe not the boot lid, but it was repainted and the original farina grey and red oxide is behind every layer.  I also have all the glass (except widscreen) and it dates to 1960 and is in great shape.  All the little differences of this car are cool.

This is my third attempt at saving a mini.  Others were leyland and were about 20 years younger and more rusty( they were UK cars)

The cars where I live don't rust very badly as they do in the UK and I see alot of people there patching minis up that are in worse condition than mine, so that has helped with the motivation and hope.  Here are a few pics:

Welcome to TMF :) Your mini looks in good shape for a 55 year old car! Glad to hear that you're going to restore it.

Welcome to TMF. Good luck with the mini, always worth saving a mini, especially the early ones!

Check the chassis number as it may turn out to have been manufactured in 59 as it has some early features

Yeah, did the detective work and sent off the stuff to the heritage service and it is number 20k or so.  Early March.
